CROP Walks

Each year our Church participates in the CROP Walk, which was founded by the Church World Service 60 years ago. CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty, and focuses on educating communities about the issues of hunger and raising funds. CROP Walks in Houston benefit Houston’s hungry, which include children, the elderly, the working poor, refugees and the disabled. Almost 600,000 people in our neighborhoods don’t have enough to eat, and 65% of children who die from hunger-related problems could have been saved at the cost of as little as a dime a day per child.

The walk is a 5K, 10K or the Golden Mile. Not only does this benefit our community, with 25% of the funds raised going directly to services in Houston, but it gives us a chance to stretch our legs and have some fun.
